I am in my rookie season at Woodlawn Elementary! Since 2010, I have taught fourth and fifth grades in Emporia, Kansas, and in Lawrence. This move to PE is new and exciting! I will also be teaching classes at Lawrence Virtual School this year. I am also entering my third season as a cross country coach at Lawrence High School. In all settings with kids, I want to encourage teamwork, effective communication, and how to embrace challenges.
I graduated from Emporia State University in 2010 with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. It was there I met my wife, although she doesn't remember me being in her math class. She currently works as a Learning Coach for Lawrence Public Schools, and our two children attend school in Lawrence, too!
When I am not at school, I have a handful of interests and hobbies:
- Relaxing and recharging by way of long distance running
- Consuming ice cream (homemade, store bought, ANYTHING!)
- Enjoying sad country music songs
- Listening to talk radio and news
I look forward to working with Woodlawn students and families! Isn't today a great day to be a Riverhawk?
