Kensley is a third generation Lawrencian and Lawrence Public Schools graduate. She was inspired to become a teacher by her beloved grandmother, Lois Llewellyn, who taught in the district for nearly 30 years.

Beginning in 2006, Kensley was an assistant teacher in both traditional and Montessori settings while completing her degree from KU. After graduation she decided to pursue her Montessori certification through an AMS program and has been guiding children to independence and a love of learning since 2013.

Kensley and her husband are excited about growing their family and cementing their lives in Lawrence, surrounded by many family and friends. Weekends are spent cheering on the Jayhawks and playing with their two rescue dogs.
